HOPE HOUSE NEWS
Meet Gio: Early Learning Changes Lives
Kudos to Gio, who at five years old is in Advanced Reading at school! Gio’s mom brought him to our Early Learning Program while she was busy in our GED Program. Thanks to our Early Learning Coordinator and several volunteers, Gio learned to love our classroom and developed important literacy and social-emotional skills.
Gio soon made significant advancements and entered Kindergarten on par with his peers, which changes the likely trajectory of Gio’s entire school career. In fact, research shows that Gio is now more likely to not repeat a grade, graduate from high school, and avoid public assistance!
