Selena Van Horn joined the Hope House staff in June 2022. Selena is a Colorado native but moved to Texas for three years where she graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish. She believes in intentionally helping teen moms feel seen, known and loved. She has advocated for women in a variety of ways from blog writing, prayer ministry and mentoring. She has worked as an intern advocate with teen moms; supported kiddos with developmental disabilities; tutored a refugee for the refugee citizenship process; and participated in short term mission trips to the Dominican Republic, South Padre Island and Ecuador where she was able to see God’s love at work in the lives of women transformed all over the world. Prior to coming to Hope House, Selena worked as a registered behavior technician performing ABA therapy for children with autism. She is excited to use these experiences to help every mom that comes through Hope House and to remind them of their extrinsic love and value. In her off time, Selena enjoys going on adventures with her husband and friends, spending time in the sun, paddleboarding, thrifting, writing, photography and spending time in Texas.
